In today’s generation, the publics have grown into becoming individuals who are more socially aware of their surroundings. Global concerns such as climate changes, gender equality, poverty and the lack of education have become a worry for many, even to people who are not personally facing these issues.
This is where Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) comes into the picture, as an organization’s action in carrying out their social responsibility with the aim of resolving these issues.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined as a management concept whereby companies where environmental and social concerns are integrated into the organization’s interactions and business operations with their stakeholders (UNIDO, 2018). CSR aims to increase long-term profits for businesses by empowering the company to become more efficient, which will attract positive attention for their efforts as well (BigCommerce, 2018).
Organizations are established with a goal to succeed by making profits as well as creating a well-known brand among its various publics. However, once a company secures its stability, it is time for it to not only focus on itself but to also give back to the society. One of the most effective ways to do this is by carrying out CSR campaigns and a company that is an exemplary figure is Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd.
